Orphanages
Fathering orphans is at the very heart of the IMPACT mission. Children, especially orphans played a major part of the teaching of Jesus. Transformed young lives trained in Christian principles for leadership roles within the local and national communities, as well as Christian leadership is all a part of leaving a legacy for the generations to come.

In partnership with
'His Dwelling Place Ministries' [Zephaniah Project] and the direction of
Karen Salinas, Impact International assists in developing the lives of children for their role in the next generation of leaders.

Joshua Pillai, the Impact Director for India and Asia, introduced Impact to
Sam and Beena Gilbert and their home for children in Chennai, India. Their home (an orphanage) gave us new insight into how Impact desires to pattern its future homes for orphaned children. Sam and Beena are parents to the nineteen children, loving and caring for them in a family atmosphere and raising them as Christian children.
Sam and Beena Gilbert's orphanage is a family, a home, a place of warmth, with a real sense of community. Alastair immediately bonded with Sam and Beena and the couple requested the program as a continuing part of their children’s life. The program teaches the children on the principals of the bible as they relate to discipleship and leaving something behind for others to benefit. The generational aspect of the Impact legacy program is unmistakable and the children picked up on it immediately. The team were surprised by the children. They produced their own series of skits to show the team how much they had learned from the program. It was a moving time for the team as they realized their time with the children was truly well spent.
It was evident that God had brought Impact together with Joshua and he agreed to serve Impact in India and Asia as director. Joshua in the days ahead will create a blueprint for the development of Impact in India and Asia to further the model of national and community transformation. The end purpose of the impact model is to leave a legacy for the generations to come and the legacy program for children is the core tool to that end.
